Track 3: Intraoral Scan-CBCT Registration

Track 3 is the fusion application task. It evaluates intraoral scan-CBCT registration, creating a complete digital patient model by fusing the high-resolution crown geometry from intraoral scans with root and bone information from CBCT. It is the critical fusion step for surgical guides, custom abutments and comprehensive digital treatment planning.

Teams submit the rigid spatial transformation matrix that aligns the IOS mesh to the artifact-affected CBCT volume. The task is designed for complex clinical cases in which metallic restorations or implants degrade CBCT appearance while IOS still provides precise crown-surface geometry.

Registration performance is assessed with Mean Translation Error (MTE) and Mean Rotation Error (MRE), consistent with the STS 2026 challenge design document and previous STS registration evaluation practice.

The Track 3 leaderboard and winners will be announced after the final evaluation phase is complete.

The latest public materials for STS 2026 will also be linked from the official GitHub repository.
