Task 2: CBCT-IOS Registration

Task 2 evaluates registration between dental CBCT volumes and intraoral scans (IOS). The goal is to align high-resolution IOS crown-surface geometry with CBCT root and bone information, producing a complete digital patient model for treatment planning.

Teams submit the rigid spatial transformation matrix that aligns the IOS mesh to the corresponding CBCT volume. The task is designed for complex cases where CBCT appearance may be degraded by metal artifacts, while IOS still provides precise crown-surface structure.

Registration performance is assessed with Mean Translation Error (MTE) and Mean Rotation Error (MRE), consistent with the STS 2026 challenge design document and previous STS registration evaluation practice.

The Task 2 leaderboard and winners will be announced after the final evaluation phase is complete.

The latest public materials for STS 2026 will also be linked from the official GitHub repository.
